There were several new faces in the judging line-up for 2014. Jasper Morris MW, author of Inside Burgundy and buyer for Berry Bros & Rudd, is this year's regional chair for Burgundy, while Richard Juhlin has been appointed regional chair for Champagne. Other new regional chairs for 2014 include Paolo Basso, named best sommelier in the world this year, who oversaw entries from Piedmont. Master Sommelier Isa Bal was another new name and covered the Southern & Eastern Mediterranean region. Rytis Jurkenas: DWWA 2014 judge - “I adore blind tastings as when you are left alone with a wine, it speaks to you and reveals its true essence and, without prejudice, you become part of an exciting discovery in every glass.”

JSC “Teliani Valley” was founded in 1997 on the basis of “Teliani Winery of Vintage Wines”, which was built in 19th century in Tsinandali, in the neighbourhood of Teliani’s vineyards. Tsinandali, due to peculiarities of its soil and microclimate, has always been the centre of Georgian viticulture.
